acoustic haven 2022...
RE-LAUNCHING for our 16th Year of Excellent Live Music in South Devon... Community, Cakes, Chai & Quality Artists.
Acoustic Haven is a unique community managed top quality live music night in Devon.
Entirely run by volunteers and offering a uniquely intimate colourful, and cosy atmosphere once a month.... it's been described as a 'pop-up oasis' and a 'rare and special gem in the South West...'
if you have been to one you will know just how special it is.
Tickets are available online through www.wegottickets.com (search for Acoustic Haven), or in Totnes at 'Ola Chiropractic' down on the plains next to the Crystal shop and McCabes.
We've been hosting these events on the last friday of each month, each winter since 2007.
Acoustic Haven started at Bowden House from a wish to create an inspiring, intimate, and nourishing night. We then moved to St John's Church in Totnes, and have now started hosting occasional events in the welfare barn at The Hillyfield, getting people out into the woods to enjoy the special magic of acoustic music in nature.
There have been some exceptional musicians come to play, and the mix of music is always interesting and engaging. The sound quality is of a very high standard, now provided by Alhor Byrne.
The venue is a stunningly crafted traditional timber frame barn with a huge wood-burner. Normally it is used as a workshop but for this event we clear it out, make it cosy & as if by magic it is transformed into a unique and intimate venue.
For live-music in Devon there is simply nothing like this event. Many artists including Martha Tilston have said it is their 'Favourite Gig' to play at, and you will understand why. Brilliant decorations by Mike Boyer, with original artworks projected throughout the building, and a well resourced cafe serving delicious home-made cakes and organic soups, plus hand-made Chai Tea, wine, and locally brewed ale from the New Lion Brewery.
It's a place to meet friends, be inspired, and warm away any winter blues.
And 100% of the proceeds from the event are shared between the artists and our woodland project at The Hillyfield on Dartmoor where we care for 46 acres of mixed ancient woodland and pasture.
If you want to volunteer to help make the event even better - then please get in touch using the contact button under the 'about' tab at the top.
Due to the limited size of the venue it is possible we can sell out so please book early to avoid disappointment. It is best to buy a ticket for your children in advance. Children under 12 are half price but please respect that this is an event for the enjoyment of music and anyone wishing to make noise or chat is invited to go to the cafe or sit out under the stars by the fire.
Enjoy :)
